How do I establish residency? Print

To qualify for residency for tuition purposes only, you must have:

physical presence in California of at least one year and one day prior to the first day of classes. For example, if the first day of summer session is June 5, 2017, you will need to have continuously lived in California since June 4, 2016
demonstrated an intent to make California your permanent home. To determine items you may need to demonstrate intent, please visit our residency page.
